Read Aloud to a Child Week October 22-26

Reading aloud is one of the most effective techniques that teachers and parents
can use to positively impact their children’s success in school and in life. Some
of the benefits of reading aloud are increased vocabulary, language,
comprehension, listening skills, creativity, and the imagination.

The theme this year is The American Presidents. This election year presents
an excellent opportunity to read to children and discuss the office of the
President. In an endeavor to promote literacy across the curriculum, we have
encouraged social studies teachers to team with reading/English teachers to
make this reading experience eventful for children.
