The Caroline Middle School STEMulating Energy Project is a 21st Century Learning Center program that shows advocacy for increased STEM education for all students. The STEMulating Energy Project uses project-based learning and real-world problem solving skills to improve learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The projects completed by the students in this program are centered on the theme, “Energy”. Some of these projects include: robotics, technical drafting, engineering, and alternative energy. The students also visit the Science Museum of Virginia and receive mentoring and support from Caroline Middle School teachers and SimVentions, Inc. engineers. By advocating for improved and increased STEM education, the Caroline Middle School STEMulating Energy Project provides students with the skills and knowledge they will need to be successful in school and the 21st Century.
