The Nutrition Services Department will now post the Nutritional Nuggets monthly newsletter. This resource can be located on their website.
Caroline County Public Schools will be conducting speech, language, hearing, vision, and motor development screenings for grades K, 3, 7, and 10. These screenings will be completed by the speech pathologist, school nurse, teachers and physical education teachers. Parents will be notified of the screening results if further evaluation is needed.
Notification to Parents:
Each year students in selected grades (see table below) routinely receive a brief screening evaluation in the areas of hearing, vision, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, speech (articulation), voice, and language development. All children in the grades indicated are screened within the first 60 administrative days.
Caroline County Public Schools will provide parent educational information on scoliosis for students in grades five through ten. If you have any questions regarding a scoliosis screening, please contact your child’s school nurse or your family physician.
Hearing – Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 3, Grade 7 & Grade 10
Vision – Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 3, Grade 7 & Grade 10
Fine & Gross Motor – Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, initial entry through grade 3
Speech, Voice & Language – Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, “New” students not previously enrolled in Caroline County Public Schools.
Scoliosis – Grade 5 through Grade 10

On August 11, 2015, the Virginia Department of Education released the SOL pass rates for all schools, all divisions, and the state. Caroline County Public Schools is pleased to announce that increased scores were seen in many content areas and that it is anticipated that the number of fully accredited schools will increase.
