Caroline County Public Schools received a Green Certification award

Caroline County Public Schools received a Green Certification award in the 2017 Virginia School Boards Association’s (VSBA) Green Schools Challenge. It is a friendly competition designed to encourage implementation of specific environmental policies and practical actions that reduce the carbon emissions generated by both the local school division and the broader community. This is the ninth year the awards were given out.

The Certified Green School Division winners were recognized at the VSBA Annual Convention being held in Williamsburg. The 30 school divisions were recognized as being Certified Green School Divisions by implementing new actions and adopting new policies that earn the divisions “green points”. The VSBA Green Schools Challenge was sponsored by Moseley Architects and ABM Education.

PowerSchool Assessment Review

An exciting new feature has been added to PowerSchool Assessment called student assessment review. With this feature, students can look at items that they missed within a predefined window. In order to activate this feature, a teacher must select this option when scheduling a test. After setting a review window, the teacher generates a code for each student. To access the review feature, students and parents navigate to the PowerSchool Assessment log on screen. Both the students and parents tab include the option to review an assessment. After selecting the review an assessment option, enter in the student number and the unique review password. The link to PowerSchool Assessment is found on the www.ccps.us site under the parent drop down. An additional link is located on the my.ccps.us intranet page under the students tab.
