Caroline County Public Schools is pleased to present two draft 18-19 Instructional Calendars for stakeholder review and comment. The CCPS Instructional Calendar Committee worked collaboratively in November with the aim of preserving and enhancing various aspects of the academic calendar. Options A and B reflect committee input as well as local and state mandates that provide parameters for calendar development. For more information regarding the committee’s work and regulatory requirements, please see the Frequently Asked Questions document on the CCPS website.
Please take a moment to review Options A and B (CCPS website) and provide us with feedback. The survey will close on Thursday, December 21. We look forward to presenting a final draft calendar to the School Board at the February School Board Meeting.
Calendars A and B are similar with the exceptions of March and April. See below for the outlined differences:
- Calendar A provides a consistent spring break (1st week of April – would not change in future years) that aligns with calendar proposals for neighboring divisions to our immediate South (Hanover, Henrico, Richmond City). With a consistent spring break, Option A provides a half student day on 4/19/19 and a holiday on 4/22/19.
- Calendar B provides a traditional spring break, which falls prior to the holiday on 4/21/19.
- Options A and B reflect different dates in March for the End of the 3rd Quarter and time allocated for professional work days.
