Thank you for joining us for “Day 4” of the CCPS FY20 Budget video series. Today you will hear from Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Herbert Monroe, regarding the school division’s four funding streams: federal, state, local, and other. Stay tuned to learn how these monies are critical to achieving the school division’s three basic FY20 needs – compensation (phase II), health insurance renewal rate increase, and the CHS school improvement/testing coordinator position (House Bill 1729).

Join us tomorrow (Tuesday, 4/16) for the fifth and final video as well as the Board of Supervisor Budget Public Hearing at the Caroline Community Center (6:00). Have a marvelous Monday!

Junior Solar Car Competition

What an accomplishment! Two teams from BGES and two teams from MES competed Saturday in the regional Junior Solar Car Competition sponsored by the VCU engineering and education departments. The students designed, built, and raced their cars. Caroline students placed 1st place in racing, 1st place in design, 1st and 2nd place in portfolio, and FIRST OVERALL! Thank you to Rebecca Schieber and Tamara Feggans for supporting our students in this amazing STEM endeavor!

Eastern Region Spring Forum

Caroline County Public Schools hosted the annual Eastern Region Spring Forum on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The Spring Network Forum is especially designed to give school board members and superintendents the opportunity to meet with their colleagues from across the region for an evening of fellowship and discussion. CCPS hosted 12 counties in the Eastern Region with 67 attending the event. The VSBA hosted the region student art show at the forum as well. Student representatives from the CHS CTE program gave guided tours, JROTC welcomed attendees and presented colors, CHS Chorus and String Ensemble provided entertainment, the culinary class provided a delicious meal, and CCPS staff with Dr. Calveric and Dr. Jones presented Profile of a Graduate.
The Caroline County School Board would like to take a moment to thank everyone that participated in the spring forum. It was a great night to share. #onecaroline.
