Caroline County Public Schools Announces Mrs. Corinne Griggs as New Principal of Caroline Middle School

Caroline County Schools is pleased to announce that Mrs. Corinne Griggs has been named the new principal of Caroline Middle School. Mrs. Griggs replaces Mr. Darin Thompson who was appointed Principal of Varina High School at the Henrico County School Board Meeting on May 28, 2020.
A Caroline County resident and native Virginian, Mrs. Griggs graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with both her Bachelors in English and Master of Teaching degrees as well as a Post-Masters in Educational Leadership and Supervision. For the past three years Mrs. Griggs has served as Assistant Principal at Caroline Middle School. Additionally, Mrs. Griggs was selected to participate in a two-year leadership cohort through University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education’s Statewide Communities of Practice for Excellence. Corinne has also served as an instrumental leader in Caroline County Public Schools’ development and implementation of the Virginia Tiered Systems of Support.
Prior to joining the Caroline team in 2017, Mrs. Griggs began her education career in Chesterfield County where she was a teacher and soccer coach at Matoaca Middle School as well Providence Middle School. Before becoming an integral member of the CMS Eagle family, Corinne worked as an Assistant Principal at G. W. Carver Middle School.
We are excited to celebrate Mrs. Griggs’ promotion to CMS principal and look forward to the succession planning that will occur between the incoming and outgoing leaders.
