CCPS Is Ready For Return-To-Learn March 1st

Back to school, welcome back!

Greeting CCPS Families:

We are ready and excited to welcome back our hybrid students into the school buildings for face to face teaching and learning on March 1st as we shift from VIRTUAL+ to hybrid and virtual instruction. Every staff member has been working hard to ensure your safe and successful return. Schools will continue to provide essential information through their newsletters and Blackboard Connect messages so please make sure you take time to stay connected to get the most up to date information!

Here are the top five things to ensure success:

1. Be safe (In person learners wear your mask, social distance and wash your hands)
2. Be on time (In person learners to the bus stop, school and all students to class)
3. Be prepared (have all your materials ready including mask and charged device)
4. Get involved (try a new club, sport, and/or attend an event at school or virtually).
5. Ask questions (if you have a question, please reach out directly to your teacher, school counselor or administrator-they’re here to help)

We can’t wait to see ALL learners Monday, March 1st in person or continuing virtually on our screens!

Makeup School Day March 12th

We hope this post finds you and your family safe and ready for a successful Return to Learn on March 1st. To date, CCPS has experienced six inclement weather closures. To ensure CCPS remains in good standing to meet the number of instructional hours mandated by the Virginia Department of Education, March 12th will now be a makeup school day. There are no plans at this time to extend the school year. However, we aim to have a very robust Summer Academy that will provide not only remediation and enrichment, but numerous offerings to meet the needs and interests of our students. Thank you in advance for planning to have your student connected virtually or in attendance at school on March 12th.

Return to Learn Updates and Reminders

The goal and purpose of this post is to ensure and communicate a safe and successful virtual and hybrid Return to Learn on March 1st. CCPS will deliver high quality instruction to all students as we continue to navigate the impact and effects of Covid-19. This week CCPS encourages all families to check social media outlets, school websites, emails, and Blackboard messages from building principals for reminders, notifications, and logistics on how all students will successfully transition to both hybrid and virtual instruction on March 1st. Building leaders will share important reminders, mitigation strategies and expectations, along with videos to equip all students and families with the necessary tools for a safe and successful Return to Learn.

Be well and stay tuned for ongoing school updates!

Schools CLOSED for Friday, February 19, 2021

Good evening, CCPS families! Due to the impact of today’s storm paired with overnight low temperatures and continued freezing rain, all CCPS schools will be closed on Friday, February 19. Students will participate in an asynchronous learning day using online and/or paper materials and supplies made available to them on Tuesday in preparation for the pending weather.
Employees will follow CODE 3 (no one reports to building). 12-month employees and teachers will use the asynchronous day as an at-home, virtual work day. Essential staff are asked to report at 10am.
Stay safe and be well.
