Darlene Keener Announced as Dean of CDLC

The Caroline County School Board appointed Mrs. Darlene Keener as Dean of CDLC at their meeting on June 14, 2021.
Mrs. Keener graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Old Dominion University and an Administrative Leadership Endorsement from Longwood University. Mrs. Keener currently serves as the CCPS Behavior Support Coordinator, and also continues to be a champion for the on-going training and implementation of trauma informed practices and VTSS development within CCPS. Prior to this position, Mrs. Keener worked as the Behavior Support Program Teacher for students with special needs at Cedar Forest Elementary in Spotsylvania county from 2011-2018. While in that role, she was coordinator for the Olweus Bullying Prevention program which demonstrated a marked reduction in bullying among students. Mrs. Keener is a proud resident of Caroline County and was a previous Executive Director of Caroline’s Promise, a position she still holds dear to her heart. She will begin this position August 1, 2021.
