Leadership Lands at BGE

Bowling Green Elementary School’s Junior Beta Club officers attended the Leadership Summit at Great Wolf Lodge on November 1st-2nd. Officers attended two leadership sessions to enhance their communication skills through close listening and asking purposeful questions. Early Thursday BGE students were recognized with an award for being an Outstanding Leadership School.

Elijah, Alyson, and Jamie presented in the Service Snapshot category, where the club’s “Have a Heart Program” qualified for national competition in Oklahoma City. The program looks to serve our community’s need for assisting those that need a hand up.

Coby, Amarjay, Alillian, and Elijah competed in Lead Outside the Box. The Bowling Green Elementary School team worked late into the night researching the real world challenge of constructing a green and eco-friendly community center. Southworth, Childs, Smith, and Parker’s presentation on the Big Green Scene Community Center also secured a national qualification to Oklahoma City.

In all, Bowling Green Elementary school proudly brought home 3 awards and secured two spots in the National Beta Convention. This nationwide competition will be held June 15th in Oklahoma City.
