CHS will take students to the HBCU Festival in Washington, D.C. on February 23th. Over 70 historically black colleges and universities will be present, including Hampton, Norfolk State, and Virginia State. Students can speak to admissions representatives and participate in on-site admission interviews. Spots are limited, so sign up soon. Transportation and admission into the event are free
Mark your calendar for March 12th from 5:30pm-7:30 pm for College Night. Parents and students are welcome to attend. Topics include choosing a college and how to apply for financial aid.
Representatives from Virginia Tech and Mary Washington will speak about college admissions. Pizza will be provided. Students should expect to see an email with more information.
If your junior is taking the SAT this spring, math prep will be offered
on February 6 and 13 by Ms. Taylor and Mr. Hartinger from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Students can ride the activity bus home.
All juniors who plan on attending a four-year college should take the
SAT this spring. Fee waivers are available for those who qualify. Registration can be completed at www.collegeboard.org. See your counselor or Ms. Taylor with questions.
