Madison Nutter-CHS November Student of the Month


Madison Nutter, daughter of Travis and Shelley Nutter, was selected as Student of the Month for November at Caroline High School. She is president of the senior class, treasurer of the National Honor Society, a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Beta, and a representative of the Student Council Association and Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. Madison is also a captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and has made the competition team all four years. She earned 1st Team All District and 1st Team All Region after this year’s season. She is an active member of the Wright’s Chapel youth group where she has been on mission trips, and she has also assisted with the blood drives here at CHS.

After graduation Maddie plans to attend a four year university and major in elementary education.

Career Cafe Happenings

On November 7th the Career Coach partnered with Junior Achievement of Central Virginia  and Luck Stone in Milford Va for a job shadow opportunity.  Ten students learned  about workplace readiness skills, career opportunities, and the history of Luck Stone Industries.  Students also where given a tour and participated in a working lunch on site.

The Career Cafe held on November 14th hosted  Stephen C. Letchford, L.S., Survey Manager of AES Consulting Engineers.  Mr. Letchford discussed the various career pathways for surveying, what the job is really like , and the great need for surveyors in the future.    For more information on this career, please visit Virginia Association of Surveyors  for more information.

CHS Automotive Earns Conditional National Accreditation Status

On October 24th and 25th a team from the Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation completed a review of the Automotive Training Program at CHS. Twelve Automotive Program standards were analyzed and assessed. Congratulations to Mr. Anderson and his students for becoming conditionally accredited. We look forward to achieving full accreditation status after our next review 2.5 years from now.
