Elizabeth Dosado, Caroline High School December Student of the Month

Elizabeth DosadoElizabeth Cierra Dosado, daughter of James and Celina Dosado, was selected as Student of the Month for December at Caroline High School. Elizabeth was selected because of her determination, hard work, and successes both in and out of the classroom. She is in the top 3% of her graduating class and has maintained a GPA over a 4.0 throughout high school.

Perhaps she is best known around CHS for her wrestling achievements. Elizabeth is a member of the varsity wrestling team where she has been a two time state qualifier, the Hanover Hawkeye Wrestling Team where she was a seven time VAWA champion, and the Virginia National Wrestling Team where she was a two time national placer. Elizabeth is the first wrestler from Caroline to make it onto the state team. She also enjoys singing, writing, and helping others through church, mission trips, and working with Special Olympics.

After graduation, Elizabeth plans to attend a four year university to become a psychologist or mental health counselor as well as a wrestling coach.

CHS SCA Angel Tree

The Caroline High School SCA is excited to make the season brighter for local families and furry friends. These student leaders organized an Angel Tree this year and were able to provide presents for ten families in need as well as pet supplies for the Caroline Animal Shelter. Over 70 presents were collected! Thank you to all of the teachers, staff, students, parents, and especially to U4C Victory Ministries for being angels and making an impact in our community this year.

SCA members hold Angel tree donations as they sit around the tree.

CHS Students Learn About Personal Finance

Caroline High School students visited the Junior Achievement Park to learn about personal finance. At the Finance Park, students were given an alternative life and job scenario to financially plan for. They had to account for everything from paying student loans and the cost of having children to finding a place to live.  Financial experts were on hand to answer questions and provide guidance as the students created their plans.
