Additionally, numerous media sources will be used to notify our school community of inclement weather closures: Channel 6, Channel 12, Channel 8, WFVA, WNNT & WRAR, FM 95.9 and 104.5, School’s Out, Fredericksburg.com, and Caroline Alert.
Early dismissals, late openings, and closures will be posted on the Caroline County Public Schools website (ccps.us) and Facebook.
Jacolby Washington, of Milford, was selected for October at Caroline High School. He is a member of the Technology Student Association and an active member of St. James Baptist Church of Milford, Virginia where he is in the Men’s Club, the Inter-generational Choir, and various Bible study groups. He also volunteers time with computers and IT support.
After graduation Jacolby plans to attend a four year university and major in mechanical engineering, architecture, or industrial design.
Matthew Quinn Kenny, of Ruther Glen, was selected for November at Caroline High School. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the cross country team, and the track and field team. He has always maintained honor roll status and is currently fourth in his class.
After graduation Matthew plans on attending either Virginia Tech or James Madison University to major in computer data analytics and become a cyber-security technician.
This past week, the CHS chapter of the National Senior Beta Club attended the Virginia State Beta Leadership Summit in Williamsburg, VA. The club achieved mastery in the Rapid Response, Service Snapshot and the Lead Outside The Box categories. All three of these teams will go on to compete at the National Beta Convention this summer in Savannah, GA.
Isabella Perez was selected as a Virginia Leadership Ambassador. She won a full scholarship to the Summer Leadership Conference
in Washington DC, and she will work with the National Beta Council in facilitating next year’s leadership summit. Isabella also has the opportunity to interview for a National Leadership Ambassador position this summer.

Our guest speaker will be nationally recognized motivational speaker,Rohan Murphy. Rohan, who lost his legs at birth, started to wrestle his freshman year of high school. After a successful high school wrestling career he went on to wrestle at Penn State University and earned three varsity letters during his tenure. In addition to wrestling, Rohan is also an accomplished powerlifter, competing in competitions all over the world representing the USA. Rohan Murphy has lived his whole life motivating people through his actions; he is now motivating the youth of America through his words. Rohan’s life story is a gripping tale of adversity, dedication, and living life with a purpose.
On Monday, October 23, 2017, Rohan will be in Caroline County for three presentations, speaking to all of our 4th and 5th grade students, middle school students and high school students.
