If you are planning to attend any post-secondary school and have not yet submitted the FAFSA, FAFSA Completion Night will occur on November 13th from 5-7 p.m. Completing the FAFSA will qualify you for federal or state financial aid.
Those who attend will have a chance to win a scholarship ranging from $250-1000! Five winners will be selected from a statewide raffle.
Volunteers will be available to assist you with completing the FAFSA. Parents are encouraged to attend to provide important information
Going to college after graduation? You have an 85% chance of getting financial aid — just by taking an hour to fill out the FAFSA! On November 13th from 5 PM to 7 PM in the Seminar Room, students and parents can get one-on-one help with the FASFA. Drop in at any time during these hours.
You will need:
- your social security number
- a parent’s social security number
- your tax documents from 2017
- your parents’ tax documents from 2017
If you are a female graduating senior that lettered in a sport, you are eligible for the Gwen Durrett Memorial Scholarship.
This year’s recipient will be receiving $2000.00. Applications are due Aprip 15th. See the scholarship newsletter for more information.
CHS will host a College Information Night on Thursday March 8th in the CHS Cafeteria. Sign-in and pizza will run from 5:30 to 6:00 pm and the presentation will begin at 6:00 pm. In addition to free pizza, there will also be a raffle for three $500 scholarships. Students must be present for the entire event to win.
There will be information on different types of colleges, how to apply to college, financial aid, and scholarships. The event is targeted towards 11th graders and their families, but all grades are welcome! Its never too early to start planning for college!
