Good Morning Parents and Students!
This year we have the opportunity to offer to our 8th graders the chance to take the PSAT 8/9! It’s free of charge to the student and will be given during school hours on Thursday, November 9 (originally scheduled for November 2).
This is a great way to know what areas you excel in and what areas you need to work on prior to going to the High School! Email Dr. Burruss at email@example.com or call at 804-633-6561 x4025 with any questions or for more information. You can also contact her for an opt out form.

The eighth grade students’ finished product for this year’s “Down on the Farm” competition at the VA State Fair. The round hale bales will be visible the entire length of the fair and will serve as the grand entrance.
This past Friday, 6th and 7th grade students visited Caroline High School Agriculture facilities to learn how to plant lettuce from seed in the greenhouse. While there, middle school students also explored the chicken coop, learned how chickens lay eggs, and saw where the high school students gather eggs each morning. CHS Agriculture students mentored the students on proper planting procedure and gave them a tour of the chicken coop area. This was the first field trip to the high school agriculture facilities and certainly will not be the last! CMS and CHS Agriculture classes are looking forward to the many opportunities to work together and form a partnership to teach students where our food comes from and the value of hard work.
Pictured here are 8th grade students working to design a giant hale bale space for this year’s “Down on the Farm” competition at the VA State Fair. Select students will travel to the fair today to setup for the competition. The round hale bales will be visible the entire length of the fair and will serve as the grand entrance. Stay tuned for the results as CMS is competing against 10 local schools.
