The CMS staff returned back to school this week starting on Monday, August 7th. They have been busy preparing their classrooms, participating in professional development, and planning for the upcoming school year. The week began with several team building activities, a county wide convocation, and Open House for parents and students. We are excited to get started on the 2017-18 school year at CMS!

On Friday, April 29th, the students, faculty, and staff of CMS Duct taped two of their own to the wall in the gym. This event was a fundraiser for a trip to France, Belgium, and Germany that Ms. Gibson is leading students on next Spring Break (2017). The CMS family voted on which teacher and/or admin they wanted to see taped to the wall. Mr. Dudley and Mr. Mack were chosen as the “lucky” winners!!!! Then, duct tape was purchased to attach to these two willing subjects! The event raised $1001.21 to help send students to Europe next year! Thank you to everyone for their support and help!
During the SOL Academic Pep Rally, students also played, “Are you smarter than a Six Grader?” as an interactive review, using questions most commonly missed on benchmarks and assessments this year!
We salute our “CMS Teachers” during Teacher Appreciation Week. Everyday is a new day of high quality instruction and learning. We appreciate ALL that our educators do for our student leaders to keep them engage in active learning. May 2nd-6th we celebrate and recognize our teachers for going above and beyond the extra mile to finish the journey of learning each school year!
