Congratulations Mrs. Jane Carter on your Retirement!

CCPS would like to celebrate the dedication of Jane Carter in supporting both students and teachers throughout her 31 year career at Caroline County Public Schools.

Jane Carter began her career at Ladysmith Primary School in 1991 as a parent volunteer every day for 2 years. She signed on to become a kindergarten para in 1993 at Ladysmith Primary and remained in that position through the transition to Lewis and Clark until 2010. Over the years she transitioned through many positions to support the students of Caroline County. From 2011-2014 she served as a Pre-K para.

In 2014 she was back in kindergarten as the only para serving 7 classrooms. She did this until 2018 when she made the switch to first grade serving 7 classrooms and did this for 5 years until she made the switch to follow her passion and become a reading para for the last 2 years of her career. Jane has filled many other roles over the years from pulling ice cream for the Ladysmith Primary students, setting up coverages for meetings for teachers, to making grade level copies for kindergarten and first grade, and is known as the “Laminating Queen”!

Her love and dedication to Caroline County and its students will be greatly missed. Her compassion and

love for teaching students to read and seeing the students become successful was what she strived for daily! Her love and compassion for the students of Caroline County and willingness to help in any way she can will truly be missed.

We will miss you Mrs. Carter and wish you nothing but the best.
