LCES Grizzly Ways to Respond

The CCPS Appropriate Ways to respond is a way to help students respond appropriately to adult requests.  Students in Caroline County have four choices in how they respond when a request is made.  All employees model the appropriates ways to respond as well as body language and tone to create a culture of mutual respect.  It is not a student’s inappropriate behavior that gets them in trouble.  It is usually how a student responds when their inappropriate behavior is being addressed that gets them in trouble.  The entire CCPS community believes that this is a life lesson that will help all student be productive and positive citizens.

  1. Say “Okay” and complete the task.
  2. Say “Yes” and complete the task.
  3. Say “Yes Ma’am” or “Yes Sir” and complete the task.
  4. Say nothing (when appropriate) and do what is requested.
