The Virginia Department of Education recently held a “Kids Safe Online Poster Contest”. With the help of Stephanie Rowe, the art teacher at Lewis and Clark Elementary School, five entries were submitted in the K-5 category. Mrs. Rowe spoke to several classes about being safe online and had students illustrate what they learned.
Congratulations to Dihana, 3rd grader in Ms. Dockett’s class. Her poster was selected at the state level as a winner in the K-5 category.
Dihana’s poster has been submitted to the national Multi-State Cyber Security Awareness poster contest. If the poster is selected as a national finalist, it will be displayed in the 2021 National “Stay Safe Online” calendar and may also be used in campaigns to raise awareness among children of all ages about internet and computer safety.
Way to go Dihana! We are so proud of you!
