Happy New Year CCPS students, staff and families!
We hope that you have had a happy and healthy holiday season. As we begin 2021, this message is a reminder that due to rising Caroline County COVID19 transmission data, the CCPS School Board voted on Monday, December 14, 2020 to continue the current VIRTUAL+ instructional model through January 29, 2021. During this period of time, the following will be implemented:
● Students attending Internet hubs, special education students receiving in person services, and “essential VIRTUAL+ employees” report to school on January 4.
● Virtual instruction for all other students will begin on January 4 and continue through January 29 or until the end of the 20-21 school year (if selected in the intent survey).
● All teaching staff not providing in person services may work from school or remotely from January 4 through January 15. During this time, all staff will continue to report to work on asynchronous workdays (Wednesday, January 6 & 13). The modified Return 2 Building date for all teaching staff is Tuesday, January 19, two weeks prior to the implementation of the February 1, 2021 Hybrid/Virtual instructional plan.
While the CCPS team is well prepared and excited to welcome hybrid students (per intent survey) into the building for face-to-face instruction on February 1st, we continue to monitor our daily health metrics outlined by the CDC and VDH. The senior leadership team will provide the Board with a COVID19 data update at the regularly scheduled January 11, 2021 School Board Meeting.
We thank the school community for your ongoing support and engagement, and we look forward to everyone’s Virtual+ return on January 4, 2021.
Stay safe and be well!
