MES students all participated in STEM projects this week. Students from Pre-K to fifth grade were able to enjoy challenging tasks that promoted critical thinking and problem solving. Some of the projects included building challenges while others involved experiments. The fifth graders were to build a structure that was at least 2 feet tall. They could only use note cards and cardboard rolls.  Most groups exceeded the expectations, with one group building a structure that was over four feet tall!  Kindergarten classes investigated how candy corn reacted in different solutions and recorded their observations.  All of the students enjoyed the hands-on activities and are looking forward to the next school wide STEM day!
