The Pre-K class at Madison has enjoyed learning a new math skill called subitizing. Subitizing is recognizing how many objects are in a group without having to count. The students have even taken their work outdoors, working in the beautiful new courtyards!

The 2019 Science Fair was packed with great experiments and STEM activities. Families were able to see the students presentations on experiments ranging from which bubble gum brand blew the biggest bubble to which type of energy will cars use in the future.
Caroline County Public Schools (CCPS) and Rural Family Development (RFD) Head Start offers prekindergarten at the elementary level to provide school readiness skills to eligible children with the greatest need. To be eligible for the program, a child must be 4 years old by September 30, 2019. Families must live in the Bowling Green Elementary, Madison Elementary or Lewis & Clark Elementary School attendance zones.
Eligibility is also based on the poverty level of family income guidelines and other at-risk factors. Parents or guardians must complete the pre-application screening form, application, and parent questionnaire. Eligible children will be administered a screening inventory.
