*ALERT* CCPS WILL BE CLOSED THUR. JAN. 29 12-MONTH EMPLOYEES WORK REMOTELY WITH ESSENTIAL STAFF REPORTING AT 8AM.

Schools Closed / Asynchronous Learning Day – Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Caroline County Schools

Dear CCPS families and staff,

CCPS is thankful that winter storm Fern has passed. As we continue to assess our campuses and surrounding areas, snow, sleet, ice, and freezing temperatures remain. To ensure the safety of our staff and students, all CCPS buildings will be closed tomorrow and an asynchronous learning day will be implemented. All employees will work remotely with essential employees reporting at 8:00 a.m. to Caroline High School, unless otherwise communicated by a supervisor.

Instructions regarding asynchronous days were provided to your child at school last week and are also linked below.

  • Elementary School Students (Preschool – 5th Grade): Students should complete assignments on their teacher-provided choice boards.
  • Secondary School Students (6th Grade – 12th Grade): Students should complete “A Day” assignments that were previously downloaded or printed from Schoology.
  • Students may complete their work at a time that best fits their schedule.

All assignments must be returned/submitted on the day students return to school in order to receive credit AND to be counted present. Failure to submit assignments will result in loss of credit AND your student being marked absent.

Elementary School Students (Preschool – 5th Grade)

Attached you will find your child’s choice board. Students are asked to complete 3 activities per asynchronous day.

Secondary School Students (6th-12th grade)

Exceptional Education students in the Intensive Support Program received differentiated materials. In addition, students receiving related services also received an Integrated Services instructional board. If you have questions, please email your child’s case manager for support.

As always, we appreciate your partnership in successfully navigating this wintry season! We will continue to communicate as new information becomes available.
